News - Woolwich Love Lane - Site Meeting - Thursday 3^rd August

Unfortunately because of the very short notice, we were unable be arrange a meeting before the exhibition. However, soon after the public event we were able to organise a presentation just for residents at the Mews.

This was given by one of the partners of the developers' architects Jon Collins of ColladoCollins Architects & Masterplanners and one of their traffic consultants Mark Fitch of Buchanan Consulting Engineers.

After the presentation there was an active question and answer session. We again raised our concerns and fed back the comments collated in the questionnaires that some of you completed before the meeting. The presentation showed how some of our concerns about the height and scale of the development nearest to Connaught Mews had been taken into account. However, a considerable number of issues remain;

• The height, size and density of the development
• Traffic volumes, noise, congestion and pollution
• The proposed construction until 2013
• The consultation process and communications
• Access to Connaught Mews

Other considerations have also been raised;

• Concerns about safety
• Effects on property values and rent
• Parking in and around the mews
• Other development works around the mews

Following the meeting our formal response to the planning application was drawn up. This drew upon;

• The points raised at the meeting
• Questionnaire responses
• Letters to the Management Company
• Informal feedback from residents

This response has now been lodged with Greenwich Council planning department and copied to;

• The Mayor of London Ken Livingstone
• The leader of Greenwich Council Chris Roberts
• Local Greenwich Councillors Beverley Jones, Rajwant Sidhu, and Harry Singh
